ABOUT US
Homes of Hope is the only organization in the eight counties we serve that provides free support services to foster, adoptive and biological families impacted by the foster care system. We work alongside foster care state agencies in Idaho and Washington to fill the gaps in support, education and resources for foster children that have experienced trauma, neglect and abuse.

Our families can feel isolated and misunderstood when they find themselves struggling to parent, communicate with, and love children that come from hard places. Homes of Hope provides training, coaching and support groups that use TBRI® principles. Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) is a trauma-informed, whole-child approach to caring for vulnerable children and youth. Grounded in attachment theory and developmental neuroscience, TBRI® is designed to help caregivers see and meet the needs of children and youth in their care.

We understand that not everyone can become a foster family, but we believe that everyone can help in some way. Opportunities for involvement include keeping Homes of Hope and the families we serve in your prayers, providing financial support, and volunteering your time. All of us working together can make a difference in the lives of the families and children we serve in our community. With your support, together we can change the face of tomorrow.

OUR VISION
To see children and youth raised in a safe and secure, loving and nurturing family. Our focus includes:

  • Children and youth in foster care (traditional & kinship) and guardianship

  • Children and youth reunified with biological parents out of foster care

  • Children and youth adopted from foster care and private adoption agencies

  • Families at risk of children and youth entering foster care

  • Young adults in extended foster care program (ages 18 to 26)

OUR MISSION
To recruit, train, support and mentor biological, foster, guardianship and adoptive caregivers so they can provide a safe, nurturing home to vulnerable children and youth impacted by foster care and/or the Child Welfare System.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
Homes of Hope is a Christian non-profit corporation.  While we understand that there is a great variety of beliefs among Christians regarding matters of secondary importance, we hold the following views to be of first importance and therefore essential to our faith.  Officers, board members, directors and other employees of Homes of Hope agree on the following tenets of the Christian faith:

1. We believe in the one Triune God, who exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  He is holy and loving in all His ways.
2. We believe in Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully human.  Existing with the Father from eternity past, Jesus came into this world and took upon Himself authentic humanity.  He lived sinless and died selflessly to provide forgiveness of human sin and make possible a pathway to a relationship with God the Father.  He rose from the dead and ascended to heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of the Father.
3. We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who lives in and empowers all who accept God’s offer of forgiveness and relationship to live obediently toward God.
4. We believe humans are created in God’s image but born broken and sinful and can be saved from the consequences of those things and reconciled to God through faith in Jesus’ work on their behalf.
5. We believe the Bible teaches how to have a healthy and holy relationship with God and fellow humans and accept it as the only authority for Christian belief and practice.
6. We believe that Jesus’ followers are to continue His mission of love, compassion, and salvation in the world through building relationships, teaching the truth, and doing works of mercy.
